The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is the premier global network for professionals engaged in strategic communication. Founded in 1970, IABC comprises over 13,000 business communication professionals in more than 60 countries and almost 100 member chapters worldwide.

 

IABC approached Tidal to rebuild their website and to better integrate it with emerging social media.

Goals and Objectives

To create a new site that was current, easy-to-navigate and reflected the organization’s personality. The site had to be accessible by over 10,000 IABC members with additional access and privileges for local members. Enable local members from BC to network with one another, advance their careers and learn through professional development seminars and events. The site had to integrate and leverage the latest social media tools including Facebook and Twitter.

Results

Growth in membership - since the launch of the new web site IABC/BC has grown to be one of the largest chapters in the world. Easy to use and intuitive web site - over 94% of visitors found the web site either “easy to use” or “very easy to use”. Over 600 followers on Twitter - Twitter allows members to chat about recent events, and upcoming events. Over 200 Facebook Members - the Facebook page allows members to share information via the discussion board, learn more about the leadership team (officers) and read about events.
