About the client
United Way is the largest independent funder of the voluntary sector and social services in Canada. Success by 6, a United Way sub-division approached Tidal to build a branded social media platform with Facebook functionality to help create a strong, loyal online community and to provide and share resources to save coordinators time and money.
Goals and Objectives
- Enable the sharing of efforts and ideas - coordinators were located all over British Columbia, it was hard for coordinators to work together, collaborate and share resources.
- To provide a central online resource - previously coordinators felt that they had poor access to resources, information and training. Most materials were paper based.
- Security - information had to be 100% secure.
- Easy to update - content would be provided by members of the community. All updates would be implemented by non-technical individuals.
Results
- 97.5% engagement - since the launch almost every coordinator around the province has logged into the site, created a profile and engaged in a meaningful manner (posted an event, written a community story).
- Easy to use - over 94% of users found the community very easy to use, navigate and interact with.
